P26: EVALUATING AND DEVELOPING A TEACHING TOOL ON FAECAL INCONTINENCE IN THE UNDERGRADUATE MEDICAL CURRICULUM

Abstract Introduction To evaluate the medical school undergraduate curriculum on faecal incontinence (FI) and develop an educational tool to improve teaching subject. Method Qualitative analysis of literature research data collected from students via emails, questionnaires focused group discussions. Result FI has not been implanted into 12,13 there are variations in topic different schools. n= 111 at Cardiff University responded survey. was reported be overlooked compared other types bowel dysfunction. 38 have incontinence, whereas 64 74 had diarrhoea constipation respectively. 77% would like more incontinence. 9 participated a discussion. An interactive e-learning module Xerte created based students' suggestions were trialed by separate cohort (n=20). All 20 showed significant improvement confidence (p <= 2.132e∧-6) after completing module. Conclusion We recommend introducing resource school, especially targeting clinical year, clear guidance for should published relevant postgraduate healthcare faculties consider assessing which stage training taught. Take-home message Baseline knowledge is poor. Lack content E learning modules potentially useful adjuncts.
